1. Welcome to A Rounder’s Blog…
Thank you for visiting this poker blog. Our goal is not to just share stories from the felt, but to also offer a look into the world of poker and tournament play with a little more depth. Reading through the blog entries, both old and new, you will find stories with strategies explained within the context of tournament play down to the table and cards in hand. This blog is part theory, part psychology, part story, and 100% poker. It’ll be hard to find another blog with the level of in-depth hand and situations descriptions.
“KK” is THE Kelly Kim, who has made it THE 2008 WORLD SERIES OF POKER MAIN EVENT FINAL TABLE! Congrats to KK, an exceptional player who has been our main writer to date. He became a professional player before the big poker craze hit, and has a deep knowledge of the cards, the people and the environments they meet in. I hope you will find the experiences shared by our resident rounder both interesting and helpful, as I have for almost 10 years now. He is one of the smartest poker players I know, and is an especially tough opponent when playing his game of choice: Texas Hold’em. Whether it is a limit or no-limit ring game, a WPT tournament event, or just some online observations, his posts will mostly be about playing Texas Hold’em.
“BB” is another welcomed blog contributor with over 17 years of poker experience. For about 14 years now, he has been a mentor for all things logical, statistical, sports-related and of course, poker-related. A master of statistical analyses, his poker perspectives are invaluable, and we can only hope to see more posts from him in the future. His game of choice: 7-Card Stud.
Our newest contributor is “PR,” a proven limit hold’em (his game of choice) player with over eight years of experience. With the advent of the WPT and televised poker tournaments, he has been venturing more and more into no-limit hold’em tournaments. And his skills have quickly earned public credibility with his 2nd place finish in the 2009 Aussie Milliions tournament as well as a 2nd place finish in one of the bigger 2009 WSOP No-Limit Hold ‘em events. Sharing his vast knowledge of cards and probability, PR’s blog entries also provide and insightful look into tournament play.
