What is the rake?
The rake is the percentage of the pot that the house collects as compensation for hosting the game. Rake structures may vary slightly at each poker site, as well as between limit and pot limit/no-limit table games. For example, table limit games at Full Tilt Poker may get raked at a rate of $.05 per $1 in the pot, and their rake for a no-limit hold'em game with low blinds may be at a rate as low as $.05 per $.50 in the pot. Generally, most poker sites will have a max rake of $3, despite the table game or limit played.
