After the recent overhaul to the site, this has definitely become one of the stronger categories for DoylesRoom. The site has a very practical layout that is fairly smooth maneuvering, and yet not too flashy. The number of account deposit/withdrawal options is close to average, with the usual FirePay and Neteller available. |

DoylesRoom does well in Software/Graphics with very functional software that is also clean and sleek looking. The site contains all of the features commonly found on other poker sites, while not overdoing it with too many non-substantive ones. (Software may work with Macs using Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac software.) |

Relatively speaking, the site maintains a solid number of online players around the clock, especially for being a younger poker site. The Limit Ring Games are usually the first to thin out, with the Multi-Table and Sit & Go Hold’em tournaments having the most consistent action. Most of the action at DoylesRoom takes place in their Texas Hold'em games, while their Omaha games have been gaining players as well. Recently, a new game was introduced to DoylesRoom players: Badugi. Their one line description of Badugi is that "the game is a triple draw four card low-hand wins game" (thankfully, more details are available on their website). Also, 7-Card Stud fans had to wait until now (March 2006) before recent software upgrades included the introduction of the game. However, 7-stud so far seems to be slow to add any substantive traffic to the site, and only low limit ring games are currently available. |

There are definitely skilled players playing on DoylesRoom, but a big portion of the players seem to lean towards more reckless (not necessarily aggressive) plays, or the more loose, chasing plays. This should be manageable by players who stay smart and aware, and passive rock-type players will not do well in the long run. |

The 25%, up to $100 deposit bonus (35% with Neteller deposit) is a slightly above average amount, and the bonus requirements are fairly easy to fulfill. For every bonus dollar, you will need 200 Action Points. For every hand, a pool of Action Points is generated, which increases with every bet, and is distributed to all participating players based on their contribution to the pot (300 points maximum awarded for each hand). The deposit bonus is paid all at once, which should not take long with their generous Action Points program (even though there is no time limit on earning your bonus either).
However, on a negative note, I have yet to see a reload bonus offer. Probably the most standout promotional aspect on the site is their “Action Points” loyalty program. The Action Points can be accrued at a decent rate, and used to enter a multitude of regular free roll tournaments with prize pools of under a $1, and above $1000.

While all rake structures reviewed don’t really differ too much from each other, we still have a poker site rated at the top, and one rated on the bottom in the category. DoylesRoom ranked at the bottom among reviewed sites, mostly do to a less favorable rake for mid to higher Limit ring games. Keep in mind, the lowest score here still isn’t bad overall. Regardless, to check the rake policy yourself, first go to DoylesRoom.com, then click on “ Support,” scroll down under “ Game Play” and click on “ Rake Information.” |
