Although this mainly came from a Limit/Hold'em ring game perspective, it can be applied to most No-Limit Hold'em games, as well.
The number off the button indicates the starting position you are at during a particular hand. The hands adjacent to each particular row indicates the MINIMUM requirement needed to play the hand. Now if you can open with hands on one line you can obviously open with all hands above as well. Now this is just a blueprint of a generally tight Hold’em game. You need to make adjustments determinant on the texture of the game.
Suited connectors, AXs and pocket pairs go up in value in multi-pot games. Also note that the hands in BLUE in late position (next to or on the button) where you are the first or second one in, are automatic raises.
One thing that I have noticed is that games online are generally much more aggressive than at the casino and POSITION is used so much more effectively. To counter this strategy you must rarely play hands in early positions and raise more in late position. Hands that are not playable in the first three spots are automatic raises when only one limper has come in and you are on the button or next to it.
I cannot stress this concept enough.
Raising in late position with one limper forces them to flop a hand against you. Even if the person is known to be a tight player and might even have a better starting hand then you. THEY ARE FORCED TO FLOP SOMETHING TO PLAY WITH YOU. Now, be aware of the play from the blinds when raising late with one limper. If the blinds are loose players, little pairs (5's and lower) are worth folding because you are less likely to go heads up.
